Too many networking events are all about the location, the music, and the pressure to "meet and greet" then move on to the next face in the crowd. But we don't work like that. The one thing that everyone says about The Lacuna (Net)works is that our meetings are relaxed, and a chance to chill out. Ok, so that's two things, but you get the idea.
"It's networking, Jim, but not as we know it."
Our usual venue is not a club or a wine bar, but a pub in Westminster, the Red Lion in Parliament Street. There is food, beer, and an informal atmosphere that will wind you down rather than wind you up, and you may even meet someone you might want to work with at some point. We meet quarterly.
The Lacuna (Net)works is for film makers, crew, actors, models, writers, photographers etc... if you are involved in film making then come along.
The next meeting is on the 20th April 2011 at the Red Lion, Westminster, from 18:30 to 22:30
Following on from our successful general networking events is a writer-specific meet-up. We are still deciding the format, but in the next few weeks expect to see announcements about a spin-off session for writers to meet writers, to discuss plots and techniques, and to generally support each other's projects. It will be small at first, but if it takes off then we might consider inviting some special guests along.
